Reaching into his past and choosing the Flatiron Building of Manhattan in New York City for his subject, is vintage Twerell. However, this New Jersey artist from New York City, expresses his subject in anything but a traditional manner. His contemporary mix of expressionism and pop art is warmed by an inherent sense of nostalgia that he also brings to the landscape. Trained at the highly respected School of Visual Arts in NYC, artist Jim Twerell creates a sense of wonder in his iconic subject when juxtaposed with his minimalist, pop art style cityscape. This 30x40 original oil painting is framed in a fine yet rustic naturally burled wood frame with a decorative gold fillet that suits the dignity of the architecturally famous Flatiron.
