About the Item
“Flaring light” (100 X 70cm). As if having captured some of the very sunlight pouring down upon it, the fishing boat in this painting seems, itself, incandescent. The heavy impasto pigment seems to spark and fly. In his own words “A deeply satisfying effect, these are the ones that give me most pleasure. This sort of thing, when it works, is one of the reasons I paint”.
