Nature’s beauty is celebrated in this expressive abstract landscape by Julie Himel that captures an autumn portrait of land, trees and sky.
The canvas is filled with light–white clouds float in the sunlit sky, hills appear in the distance, the rich green of conifers frame the earth—a melange of soft colours—brown, yellow, white, green, and a touch of red. Himel is a devoted environmentalist whose work often reflects her reverence and concern for the preservation of the natural world.

Julie Himel completed a BFA at York University with additional studies at the Toronto School of Art and Langara College in Vancouver. Himel has been painting professionally for more than 25 years. Her award-winning paintings can be found in private, corporate and public collections.
