Wind shaped sky and clouds precede storms above the foothills depicted in expressive brushstrokes. This 6 x 6 inch painting is painted in oil on a museum grade one quarter inch linen panel, framed with a 12 x 12 inch black wood plein air frame. This piece is installation ready, wired with finger friendly, coated wire. Signed by the artist on the reverse. Includes an official certificate of authenticity.
Katherine Kean’s paintings seek moments of breathtaking transition in nature; a gathering of clouds or changing tides; times when the elements of the landscape combine with the alchemy of imagination to illuminate the world of heightened mood and sensation. Her work aims to capture these fleeting moments in time and reveal the serene center that can arise in the midst of nature's turbulence. She has exhibited in museums and galleries across the United States, and has been acquired by many private and corporate collections. She has been honored to have her work selected for Bloomingdales in Santa Monica, California, Schiffer's 100 Artists of the West Coast II, Paint America's Paint the Parks, Manhattan Arts Healing Arts International's Celebrate the Healing Power of Art and the National Weather Center 2015 Biennale.
