Lori Slater
Into the Park

unknown

About the Item

This watercolor is immediately recognizable as the work of Lori Slater (1954-), a Cambria, California artist. Her landscapes have a magical quality. The flowers in the tree at top center look like starbursts. The yellow bushes with orange flowers appear to be hugging the trees they are next to. There are few sharp edges, save the fence. The colors are rich and saturated. The perspective is a bit distorted, but even that seems to welcome the viewer to enter the painting. It measures 17” x 21.25” (26” x 30” with mat). It is signed in the lower right and titled below the painting on the backing, “Into the Park.” The painting is in good condition, with one tiny flaw (see last picture). The mat is in good condition, with a very, very faint stain on the bottom. It is unframed.
