About the artist: Louis Wolchonok studied art at the National Academy of Design, City College of New York, Julian Academy in Paris, and the Brooklyn Academy of Fine Art. In addition to his artistic pursuits, which included murals, etchings and paintings, he wrote several books on art and design, and taught in New York City. This painting is from the artist's estate (estate stamp verso), and is hand-signed "Louis Wolchonok" lower center recto.
