Marcia Wise's 'Pamet Harbor (Wellfleet)' is a large 36 x 48 inch oil painting in earth tones with soft yellows, lavenders and blues applied in layers using a palette knife in Wise's signature process of adding and subtracting paint. This oil painting belongs to the artist's series of boats and reflections on water, particularly those on Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Colors show through all layers and gives this large painting vitality and depth and a peaceful feeling of rest and ease. The oil painting measures 34 x 46 inches and sits in a cherry float frame. Framed dimensions are 36 x 48 x 2.5 inches and the painting is signed by the artist on the front.
Marcia Wise is a Massachusetts-based contemporary oil painter and educator whose paintings are inspired by nature's landscape forms and patterns, color relationships, light effects and reflections, and the play of textures. Her work has been exhibited and collected nationally. She is represented by Fountain Street Gallery in Boston, MA.
