About the Item
Created in 2012, the collectif Monkey Bird Crew (MBC) is formed by two young artists from Bordeaux who are Temoret Blow the Bird (ouvThe Blow): Louis and Edouard, two street artists associated who express themselves in the same way. A philosophical tale that speaks to poetical and sensitivities men and the world. Drawing inspiration from geometry, mechanics, cosmology and astronomy, they declines their work by using all the media and supports, also using illumination and calligraphy. In addition, they are obsessive about reintroducing animal-friendly images of the city walls. These animals, not helped by those who are present in the famous tales of La Fontaine, refer to us between desire for freedom and elevation (symbolised the Bird) and the material and corporeal obsessions of the man can liberate (the Monkey). If they are located in the city walls (Paris where they are located, Lille, Bordeaux but also Amsterdam, New Delhi and more than one in Mexico), they also produce works with different recovery materials (wood, metal, glass) and on paper.
