Paul Arndt was one of the Woodstock Impressionists at a time when Depression-Era artists were living outside "The City", meaning away from New York. Many of them were enrolled in the WPA (Works Progress Administration) in the Federal Arts Project.
Paul Arndt was a student in Paris of Jean Leon-Gerome at the Ecole des Beaux Arts and in Chicago at the Art Institute. He became known for his numerous murals that he completed for steamships, public buildings, and theaters.
He settled in Woodstock, New York and was active there in the Artists Association.
This is a large scale painting. The frame is included in "as is" condition.
