About the Item
Oh the stories that this coastal scene at the last light of the day could tell! The sky is nearly flashing as the sun light diminishes sending pools of sparkles on the water's surface. The crew and guests on the schooners, smaller sailboats and dinghy become absorbed in the culmination of their day's journey and the journeys of the passengers in the other remaining boats as they navigate their boats with safe passage to their home dock destination. Rising star fine artist Paul Beebe, signature member of the prestigious American Society of Marine Artists, has included every detail is this active coastal scene, impressionist marine landscape and original oil painting. Known for his refined marine artwork artist Paul Beebe has been painting since the age of fifteen, when he first visiting Martha's Vineyard, off the coast of Massachusetts. He was immediately taken by the unique light and atmosphere in the Vineyard, feeling a kindred spirit that renews with each work. Beebe is also a member of both the famed Salmagundi Club of NYC and the exclusive Martha's Vineyard Art Association. He is a multiple award winning artist and an excellent addition to any art collection. Beebe has selected a slightly distressed gold leaf washed frame for this piece which accentuates the sparkling light across the composition; the framed size is 38x48.

- The Mill, First Slaughter, original impressionist English landscapeBy John Phillip OsborneLocated in Spring Lake, NJKnown for it's timeless charm, the quaint Cotswolds of England are what dreams are made of. First Slaughter, Upper and Lower Slaughter adjacent to Bourton-on-the-Water are such places! The Eye Brook weaves through the Slaughters, affectionately known as "the Slaughter;" the name was derived from the local marsh rather than what one might otherwise expect! This original impressionist landscape exemplifies the historical importance of the mill in these hamlets as well as the warm and inviting feeling of the region of Cotswolds, England. Also exemplifying the English countryside in this original impressionist landscape are the thatched rooves, architecture, rugged terraine and locals lingering, all seemingly frozen in time! Legendary artist John Phillip Osborne, applying many of the principles of the Barbizon school of art painters as well as classic impressionism, was the leading instructor of the highly regarded Ridgewood Art Institute of New Jersey for more than thirty four years. Osborne taught a generation of his students to go beyond the obvious in portraying their subject matter in a composition striving to capture the genuine overall feeling of the moment. He had graduated with honors from Pratt Institute of NYC and then continued his studies at the Art Students League, also of NYC. Original Osborne oil paintings...Category
