The work is signed by the contemporary British painter, Peter Nichols to the lower left.
Painted on this large scale, the painting really is impressive and with its deep blue tones and impressionist brushwork, it is a delightful painting which faithfully does its subject justice.
The colour palette used to convey the still harbour water is truly exquisite.
