About the Item
This painting depicts a colorful Mid Century Street in Paris France, a popular subject of the times painted by many important impressionist 20th Century painters. This piece is a bold display of color and thick use of paint. The artist captures the moment and the impressionistic details are noted with thicker use of paint and pallet knife. The composition is wonderful, as each figure is captured in movement with much whimsey. The trees and flowers are depicted beautifully as people go about their day outside through the streets. A charming scene from the 20th Century. This painting is signed by the artist lower left and it comes comes housed in a beautiful ornate gold tone wood frame with linen liner and hanging wire on verso ready to be displayed.

P. G. Tiele was an Italian artist known for his impressionistic city scapes, portraits and monuments, each one a unique gem that he created in a variety of sizes, some oil on board, others oil on canvas. He was a master at picking up color, texture and magnificent brush strokes in his practice. Lively inspiring Parisian life and people in haute couture outfits were Tiele's most favorable subjects. He passed away in the 1970s.
