Artist Robert Pennor paints the Dupage River, capturing the quiet tranquility at dusk. With the sun low on the horizon, its golden rays glisten on the water's surface. Smooth transitions of color were created by carefully blending oil paints.

About the Artist
After painting for years out of the family room of his home, Robert took the plunge and built an addition to his home for proper studio space. He works in two very different styles, producing both color-blocked abstracts and realist landscapes. Robert begins each painting by creating a thumbnail value sketch to establish a composition. Each piece reflects his mood, but whether energetic or placid, the colors must always be harmonious. Robert’s technique uses mostly brushes with the occasional addition of palette knives to create subtle surface texture.
