A stunning late 19th/early 20th century oil painting by the highly collected English School painter Sidney Yates Johnson. This excellent example of the artist's oeuvre depicts a figure collecting firewood in the New Forest. The painting has been well presented in period gilt slip. Monogrammed to the lower right. On canvas on stretchers.
