2019
About the Item
Contemporary and mysterious oil painting inspired by 'La Grande Serre' gardens in Paris, France, at dusk. The lush work in mainly forrest greens with floating flowers and splashes of viivid color throughout is a wonderfully complex painting with a glowing center and brushstrokes ranging from soft and focused in areas, to others that appear abstracted to the point of pixelization. The vertical painting, with its wonderful depth and dazzling flowers and grasses, is a joy to behold.
The celebration of nature, color, abstraction and realism, is from artist Stephanie Peek, whose florally inspired works of art — where darkness and drama play central roles — speak metaphorically of the fragile beauty and ephemeral nature of the world. Her lush works are focused on exotic flowers that reveal their beauty while suspended in silence and time.
The artist takes inspiration from French Antoine Watteau. whose brief career at the turn of the 18th century, spurred the revival of interest in colour and movement, suffused with a theatrical air. 'La Grande Serre' is created with the highest quality oil pigments on canvas. 50 x 36 inches. Wired and ready to hang and enjoy. Artist signed and dated. Condition is excellent.
