About the Item
Yellow Light Woods is an oil painting on canvas painted by Texan painter Steve Parker. This painting is of the woods in the back of the Houston Arboretum on Woodway Drive in Houston, Texas. In the back of the Houston Arboretum is the famous Buffalo Bayou. This was painted in the fall near Buffalo Bayou as the leaves were beginning to turn colors. Behind the trees in Yellow Light Woods is Buffalo Bayou
Steve Parker conveys his understanding of Texas landscapes and the use of native trees and flowers in many of his paintings. Yellow Light Woods was painted in 2022, It is oil on canvas and it is custom framed and ready to hang.
Steve Parker's landscapes depict Brenham, Chapel Hill, Washington County and Lake Livingston. He also paints scenes such as Memorial Park, Buffalo Bayou, etc. There is a feeling of recognition, of the familiar and yet of the elusive Texas landscape.
The visual space of the painting entices one to imagine the changing light and atmosphere on a Texas pond or a sudden mysterious ray of light across a clearing in East Texas.
By looking inward, Parker has created a view which Texas nature is constantly changing as seen in this painting of the trees at the Houston Arboretum. Steve Parker's paintings have enough definition to become recognizable while retaining a loose painterly quality. The painting always bring the viewer back to Texas. Steve Parker has been an Instructor at the Art League of Houston for over 30 years.

- Sailing to the Sun, Reflection in the Water, Oil , Abstract Landscape, NatureLocated in Houston, TXSailing into the Sun is an abstract landscape painting. It is oil on canvas. It is gallery wrapped so there is no need for a frame. On a summer morning in 1993 a 22 years old young came to Florida from a small old town in the central area of Cuba called Santa Clara. In his bag, he brought no more than two valuable things, his worn-out brushes and a great dream. The dream to one day become a professional artist in this new land that welcomed him with open arms. Captivated by his love for the beauty of the Landscapes, his last works are what he sees even in the most common scenes: the close relationship of life and who we are with the natural world around us that asks us to respect and care for it. Artist Statement: " I like to scrutinize in the simple things, sometimes it is there where the lost painting is waiting to be found by the painter's eyes. The landscape painting gives me the opportunity to establish a close relationship with the natural world and humbly capture on a canvas a little of its beauty listening to its voice that reminds us how valuable we are and how much we should love it". - Coral Drifters, Oil on Canvas, Light and Shadow, Underwater LandscapeBy Ellen HartLocated in Houston, TXCoral Drifters is part of the Light in the Deep Series by artist Ellen Hart. Coral Drifters investigates the ubiquitous patterns of light, shadow and reflection that we all experience daily, but that we rarely stop to notice. The works reflect a perceptual duality: a tangible, distinct moment and place when the source pattern is found, intertwined with the fleeting and ephemeral nature of time. As light and atmospheric conditions shift, my source patterns morph, move and change. LOOK FOR FREE SHIPPING AT CHECKOUT This can be seen as an underwater landscape...Category
