Susan Goldsmith
Susan Goldsmith (b. 1955, Los Angeles, CA) attended the California College of the Arts in Oakland, CA, where she completed a BFA in 1977 and an MFA in 1992. Over her career, she worked as a printmaker and as a film editor for Lucas Digital Arts and Industrial Light & Magic, all of which influenced her artistic practice and contributed to the development of the mixed-media processes she employs to realize her art. Goldsmith’s subject matter comes from her exploration of natural environments: “As you pass by one of my works, you will see the colors changing, similar to how colors change in nature based on different times of day or how wind modifies the effect of sunlight on leaves and branches.” Goldsmith has been included in exhibitions at the Oakland Museum of Art, the Sonoma Valley Museum of Art, the Marin Arts Council, the US Art in Embassies Program, and NHK Broadcasting Corporation’s “One Heart, One World,” which traveled internationally.

- Evening Blossom DriftBy David KesslerLocated in Phoenix, AZacrylic on brushed aluminum One of the most powerful tools an artist possesses is an ability to bridge the gap between what is considered real and what is illusion. This ability to alter or enhance reality is the very crux of what an artist is all about, and their success at attaining this is usually the defining element as to their stature in the field, as either an abstract or realist painter. Occasionally a painter is able to combine these two distinct disciplines and create an art form, which holds a viewer’s attention by balancing the paradox of the flat painted surface with the illusion of depth and space. For over twenty years, David Kessler followed a Photo-Realist tradition, often depicting the Arizona desert landscape...Category

- Calls in the Manitou Passage - Photorealistic Painting of Bald Eagle ScreechingBy Rick PasLocated in Chicago, ILA male bald eagle screeches to be heard above the stormy backdrop of Lake Michigan's Manitou Passage in Northern Michigan. Extraordinarily painted with such realistic detail, this majestic bird's feathers beg for the viewer to come in for a closer look at its plumage. The piece is framed in a simple black wooden frame measuring 31 x 51 inches. Rick Pas Calls in the Manitou Passage acrylic on panel 28h x 48w in 71.12h x 121.92w cm RPA022 ARTIST'S STATEMENT Creating is an addiction. With all the highs and lows you would expect. I am interested in the surface textures and creating paintings that portray them in realistic detail. Hopefully a viewer will feel they can run a hand over the feathers and moss, or grasp an object in the painting. This detail is usually composed in an abstract design. The design can occur naturally or be arranged by me.
