After a challenging hike through knee-deep mud, he stumbled upon this breathtaking vista that perfectly encompasses the essence of Hanalei and its beaches. The Process Straus' creative journey begins with a reference image, often taken himself from a time he connected deeply with his surroundings. Once in his studio, he pares it down to the most basic of lines and shapes, then using a “digital brush”, he meticulously layers countless strokes - hundreds, even thousands - to build his vision, obsessing over every detail.
