Ludwig von Roekler, also known as Ludwig von Rössler, was a German painter born in Wiesbaden in 1842 and died in Frankfurt am Main in 1910. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Karlsruhe from 1863 to 1864, and then at the Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp from 1864 to 1866. He was a pupil of Jakob Becker and Carl Johann Lasch.
Roekler was a genre painter who specialized in depicting scenes of everyday life. He was also a portrait painter and a landscape painter. His paintings are characterized by their realism and their attention to detail.
