About the Item
This is the Grand Teton and its sister peaks, viewed from atop Grand Targhee Ski Resort. The image is a rendition of the mountains shrouded in smoke. Too much smoke. Too many wildfires. The West is too dry, unfortunately. We were there to help my dear friends build their home, to change the pace, to see new things. We had a good time, but I was personally disheartened with such a hazy sky. Many emotions were felt during our visit. Many emotions were felt as well while I was painting this piece, which served me to drain, served me to reflect on the future, on trying, on getting excited, on sorrow, on resignation, and on hope.
