Nansi Bielanski
Nansi Bielanski is a native southern Californian who grew up with a deep appreciation of the exceptional beauty of California's beaches and seascapes. While she loves her home at the beach in Malibu, she is a worldwide traveler with a passion for adventure. Her love of exotic lands and their people has been the inspiration for many of her paintings, and recently she and her artist husband David C. Gallup have purchased a small island in the coral sea which now serves as their tropical studio away from home. Before becoming a professional Artist, Nansi was a Television Director and producer of many award-winning television commercials. She lived in Budapest, Hungary for three years, producing over one hundred commercials and several documentaries. She returned to her first love of painting and sculpting in the '90's, studying under internationally recognized masters Jove Wang, JeremyLipking, Aaron Westerberg, and David Gallup. Nansi is a certified Scuba Diver, and her travels have taken her to some of the finest dive spots in the world: Belize, Turks and Caicos, Fiji, and the Cayman Islands. Her experiences scuba diving in these locations and at the local Channel Islands have led to her latest work in underwater oil paintings of coral and fish. With her involvement with conservation groups like the Ocean Artists Society, Reef Check, Sea Save, Heal the Bay, and Artists for Conservation, Nansi is using her art to educate people about the need to protect this fragile environment. She has exhibited at the Weisman Museum, USC Fisher Museum of Art, Carnegie Museum, Wildling Museum of Art, and the Autry Museum of the AmericanWest- a prestigious list of Museums which is set to grow as she and David kick off their international museum exhibition featuring paintings of coral reefs starting in 2024.

- Nude AscendingBy Nansi Bielanski Gallup and David C. GallupLocated in Palm Desert, CAOn a recent trip to the Caribbean, Nansi and David were frequently surrounded by large shoals of Palometa fish, a privilege which inspired this painting, “Nude Ascending”. The motif, a nude swimmer interacting peacefully-almost spiritually-with ocean life, has become one of the trademarks of the husband and wife collaborative duo. Nansi Bielanski Gallup & David C. Gallup are fine artists living in Southern California and in the small island...Category

- A Dazzle of ZebrasBy Carole GarlandLocated in Palm Desert, CAZebras are one of the most interesting and amusing of African animals. They share the genus Equus with horses and donkeys. In a group it is believed their dizzying stripes confuse prey - or perhaps make them dizzy. An artist's delight, zebras' black and white stripes call out to be painted. Taking it a step further, Carole Garland attempts to confuse the viewer with a "Now you see it, now you don't" look at the zebras standing in a streambed in South Africa. Painted in oil on a 30"x40" wood panel, the wood sides serve as a frame around the painting. Carole Garland graduated from Knox College, Galesburg, Illinois and studied art at the Art Institute of Chicago and the University of the Americas in Mexico City. She has worked privately with Keith Finch and Rick Pekar, taken workshops with numerous plein air painters and was mentored by David Gallup...Category

- Coral ColumnLocated in Palm Desert, CAAlongside my wife Nansi, I have been lucky to explore some of the most beautiful and pristine coral reefs in the world. People often think we take pictures of the corals and paint them, but that is far from our process, which involves (at least in this case) working from an abstract design and weaving in memories and imagination until I had this image resolved. This painting is scheduled to be a part of our (Nansi’s and mine) international museum exhibition highlighting the beauty and fragility of our coral reef ecosystems, kicking off at the new ICONIC Museum in Texas in 2024. David C. Gallup has devoted his life to the study, teaching, and creation of art. He graduated from Otis/Parsons in Los Angeles in 1990, and soon found himself supervising a staff of over thirty artists under pop art legend Hiro Yamagata on the Earthly Paradise collection and other projects. He began plein-air painting on mornings, weekends and after work, and eventually left his friend and patron Yamagata to pursue a career as a gallery artist. For over a decade, he was the Vice President of the historic California Art Club...Category
