2024

About the Item

In this captivating piece titled "Union: Woman and Swan," the artist delves into the theme of symbiotic relationships between nature and humanity within the lush confines of a forest thicket. The central focus of the painting is the figure of a woman, extending her hand in a gesture of gentle connection toward a graceful swan gliding nearby. This tender interaction between the woman and the swan speaks to the inherent bond between humans and the natural world, highlighting themes of harmony, coexistence, and mutual respect. Set against the backdrop of a dense forest, the scene evokes a sense of tranquility and unity with nature. The woman's form resonates with the iconic imagery of the Trypillian idol, symbolizing reverence for ancestral wisdom and cultural heritage. The swan, a symbol of purity, grace, and transformation in many cultures, adds layers of meaning to the composition, suggesting themes of inner beauty, spiritual awakening, and the journey of self-discovery. Through this artwork, the artist continues to explore the profound connections between humanity and the natural world, inviting viewers to reflect on their own relationship with the environment and the creatures that inhabit it. This painting belongs to the artist's "Myths" series, where ancient symbolism intertwines with contemporary interpretation to evoke a sense of wonder and introspection. • Reflections at Dawn, Figurative original painting by Tetiana Pchelnykova
    Located in Sempach, LU
"Reflections at Dawn" is the latest contemplative addition to my "Thoughts" series. This triptych, measuring 100x60 cm, is crafted with acrylic paints on canvas, enhanced with oil pastel techniques, embodying my ongoing exploration into the depths of the feminine soul and its interplay with the universe. The painting portrays a young woman seated in the forest, symbolizing reflection and introspection. Her nude form speaks to vulnerability and a readiness to open her heart to the world. Engrossed in her thoughts, she may be recalling the past or dreaming of the future, her musings remaining untold. Adorning her shoulder is a Scythian-era symbol of the universe and the sun, a reminder that we are all part of something larger and an infinite cycle of life. The sunflowers and poppies leaning over her are taken from traditional Ukrainian ornaments, carrying the symbolism of the sun, blood, and rebirth. This work reflects on how femininity is intertwined with nature and cultural symbols passed down through generations. It represents my search for profound meanings and connection with antiquity while highlighting the significance of the female experience in the contemporary world. "Reflections at Dawn" is more than a piece of art; it is a personal symbolic journey towards understanding the essence of existence. ABOUT ARTIST: Tetiana Pchelnykova...
