About the Item

In this abstract oil painting, Dintino brings about images of bloody battles, or crusades. The red is angry and at some points dark, though he juxtaposes that with a bright and influential light. This light is quite god-like, which makes sense when put in the context of the Crusades. The blurred colors in this piece almost read as 'nostalgic' or historical, that the image of the past is so old that it has blurred with age. Dintino's work has to do with the melding of title and piece. His paintings all illustrate his ideas and words through visuality and color. Creating large panoramic pieces makes his work atmospheric and immersive, allowing the viewer to literally feel the title of his painting. This is quite a synesthetic approach to making art and allows ideas and words to sing. Born in San Francisco, California in 1964, Patrick Dintino grew up in Sunnyvale, in the south bay area. He went to college in San Diego earning a BA degree in Industrial Arts from San Diego State University, and co-founded Artists in Motion art collective, a group of artists who created funk-art fashion, sculpture and furniture out of reclaimed materials. He also formed a musical group called 'Naked Earth,' and handled the art direction of Ecodisc Records. He moved back to the Bay Area and earned a Masters in Fine Art degree at the California College of Arts and Crafts (CCA) in San Francisco and Oakland in 2001.

Decomposition - earth tone silver stripe abstract contemporary oil painting
Located in New York, NY
In this abstract oil painting, Dintino uses muddy colors to evoke images of garbage, swamps, and junk yards. The dirty green melds into the orange and creates a muddy orange, which then melds into a black, almost as if the colors were being infected. The painting almost reeks with the colors Dintino decided to use, as each one has its own aroma and pungency. Dintino's work has to do with the melding of title and piece. His paintings all illustrate his ideas and words through visuality and color. Rome One - Contemporary Abstract Acrylic Painting Gradient Stripes, 2023
By Audrey Stone
Located in Kent, CT
Thin stripes of color in gradient shades of soft hues, starting with indigo at the bottom and transitioning through a dark charcoal to bright red, crimson, burgundy and orange toward the top. Signed and titled on verso. Audrey Stone has spent her lifetime being fascinated with color and line. Her paintings are explorations of these two elements, appearing in thick blocks of color and subtle color gradients. The boundaries between broad and narrow bands of color generate optical vibrations, stimulating visual processes for a viewer as the colors transition and inform an emotional and physical response to the work. Stone’s paintings present a dynamic opposition within graphic blocks of color in a perfect ordered symmetry, a simultaneity of excitement and calm, movement and stillness. Audrey Stone’s work has been exhibited across the US as well as in Tokyo, Vienna, Prague and Bulgaria. Her work has been featured in The New York Times, W Magazine, Times Union and New York Artist Circle, to name a few. The work is in the collections of Ameritas Foundation in Bulgaria and Credit Suisse among others. Stone earned...
