André François van Vuuren is an experienced artist based in South Africa, whose paintings have been featured in numerous solo exhibitions internationally. In addition, his art is featured in the Pretoria Art Museum's permanent collection. Van Vuuren describes his pieces as being about life and the human condition. His bold expressionist compositions are primarily created using oils, tempera, and gouache on linen or paper. Van Vuuren has developed an authoritative and impactful mastery of line, image and colour that have been inspired by his travels in Germany, Russia, Tuscany, Zanzibar and India. "I am an intuitive, spontaneous, and romantic artist. I am not afraid to destroy what I have made, as destruction is a fresh creation."
