Classic portrait of a gentleman attributed to Joseph David Greenbaum (American, 1864-1940). Born in NYC, lived in California and became a portrait painter of prominent persons and landscape subjects. He studied at the NY School of Design and in Munich at the Royal Academy of Fine Art with Carl von Marr, Paris at Academie Julian with Jules Lefebvre, Robert Fleury, H. Zugel. Canvas laid down, prior to restoration signature may have been on verso of canvas or in margins. Image size oval, 32"H x 24"W.
