Laura Wenman is a South African artist, based in Cape Town. Her preferred subject matter is portraiture, and medium is oils. She trusts her palette as if it’s a piano. Each colour is a key that creates notes and tunes of harmonious vibration as she plays her way over the whole canvas. When the song is complete, there are three distinct layers present: transparent, translucent and opaque with each layer symbolizing the different levels at which the spirit is able to reveal itself. She has won numerous awards throughout her career and also works as an art teacher.
