Lisa Fricker
"Diptych: Broken Symmetry (The Butterfly Effect)" (2024) by Lisa Fricker

2021

About the Item

Lisa Fricker's "Diptych: Broken Symmetry (The Butterfly Effect)" is an original, handmade oil painting that depicts two close up portraits of a woman on an abstract geometric background. Through her portrait and figure paintings, Lisa Fricker explores connections between people, and theories that help us understand the natural world, employing randomness and expressive texture combined with realism. Imagined by some to be a “soul grabber”, she concentrates on relationships and formative experiences of self-creation. “The universe teems with astounding beauty and mystery at every scale. I’d like to capture our place in it – through paint.” Distinguished by her mastery of color and dazzling handling of light, she has attained signature status in seven artists’ societies. Lisa’s portraits and murals are found in hundreds of public and private collections.
