About the Item
Max Hauschild wurde 1907 in Leipzig geboren und war ein deutscher Maler, der sich vor allem durch seine einfühlsamen Porträts und figurativen Werke einen Namen machte. Er verbrachte einen großen Teil seines künstlerischen Lebens in München, wo er 1961 verstarb.
Hauschilds Werk umfasst eine Vielzahl von Darstellungen – besonders bekannt ist er für seine Porträts von Mädchen und Frauen, Akte sowie Szenen aus dem Alltagsleben. Seine Malerei zeichnet sich durch eine subtile Farbgebung, eine ruhige Komposition und eine besondere Sensibilität im Umgang mit dem menschlichen Ausdruck aus. Ein besonderes Werk von ihm ist das „Liebespaar“, in dem Hauschild zwei Figuren in inniger, stiller Nähe zeigt. Die Szene ist geprägt von Zurückhaltung und Intimität, fern jeder Theatralik, und zeugt von seinem Gespür für zwischenmenschliche Beziehungen und psychologische Tiefe.
Seine Arbeiten wurden in renommierten Ausstellungen gezeigt, etwa 2022 in der Schau „True to Nature: Open-air Painting in Europe 1780–1870“ im Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge. Zudem sind seine Werke in bedeutenden Sammlungen vertreten, darunter das Lenbachhaus in München.
