Currency #262 is part of Natasha Lelenco’s Currencies series and stands out for its delicate rendering of a female figure in profile against a soft yet saturated pink background. The sitter’s hair is tied back in a practical ponytail, her expression calm and grounded. A discreet chalk notation (“2+3+…=”) is inscribed along the lower edge of her neck, subtly alluding to unfinished calculations or unspoken personal equations. This piece combines hyperrealist technique with conceptual nuance, imbuing a seemingly straightforward portrait with layers of personal and collective resonance.
The inscription—hand-painted in Spanish and encircling the panel—reads: “Soy yo, aquí y ahora con la memoria a cuestas y la mirada en alto.”
In English: “It’s me, here and now, carrying memory on my back and looking up.”

Natasha Lelenco
Natasha Lelenco, born in Chișinău, Moldova in 1982, is a prominent Moldovan painter and contemporary artist who has been residing in Galicia, Spain, since 2008. She is especially known for her figurative work, particularly in the realm of portraiture. Holding a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Cluj-Napoca in Romania, her art has been featured in numerous international exhibitions and art fairs. Natasha Lelenco's art has been showcased across exhibitions in Spain, Germany, Denmark, Portugal, Mexico, and beyond. Natasha Lelenco's approach is figurative, primarily centered on the human form, which she understands as an integral part of life rather than its core. Her themes encompass identity, self-awareness, and the role of chance in shaping the value of things and life itself. Her artistic journey has given rise to self-contained series where narrative and format harmonize, often springing from a playful interplay of repetition, color juxtapositions, deformations in pursuit of psychological realism, and a selective use of elements and resources available in her studio. About the Artist:
Le Closier is a Belgian painter living in New York. After moving to Paris in the early 2000's, mixing Pop Art and Street Art, he started painting on the walls of his Montparnasse neighborhood in Paris (famous in the 50's for being the gathering point of writers and painters i.e Jean-Paul Sartre, Simone de Beauvoir, Picasso, Matisse, Cézanne, Modigliani....).
