About the Item

Acrylic painting of a young girl turning over her shoulder. She wears a vegetal crown on her head and is in an abstracted, natural background. The line between the subject and background is blurred, the loose brushstrokes of her hair blending into the surrounding forms. In her left hand, the girl holds a small bouquet of flowers. Her other hand is held close to her body, effectively communicating the tension the girl feels. This is furthered by the expression on the subject's face, eyebrows raised, eyes wide, and mouth open. The sharp dark forms create an ominous tone to the work that is balanced by the floral and vegetal forms throughout the work.
