About the Item

Rosa Schwenninger was born into a highly regarded artistic family in Vienna, her father being Karl Schwenninger the elder. Although she received an artistic education from her father she also studied at the University of Applied Arts Vienna with Frederick Sturm from 1869 to 1871. Rosa’s work was featured at the 1893 World’s Fair in Chicago. Signed bottom right.
