Samuel Bloch paints canvases on the frontier of abstraction that give free rein to the imagination. He studied graphic design at the London College of Communication and graduated in 2017. Since then he has discovered painting and now devotes most of his time to exploring this technique. Inspired by the expressionist and abstract expressionist movement, as well as by outsider art, he has a very physical and free approach to drawing and painting. He paints raw and vivid pictures, mainly using acrylic for its quick drying. He has also developed a monotype printing technique that is found across many of his works. His work evokes an observed world, transforming into a dream. Samuel’s interest in digital technology has led him to build bridges between traditional plastic and digital media. His multidisciplinary practice sees him, for example, working on volume by creating wood and clay sculptures that he brings to life through 3D animation.
