Fantastic early portrait of a young man and his pug dog. This painting is most likely British, but it could also be from continental Europe. It dates from the late 18th to the early 19th century and is well executed. The painting was professionally restored some time ago and a custom period style frame was made, with the frame makers label on the reverse. The dimensions listed include the frame. The work is an oil on canvas and was professionally conserved with relining and a period coorect looking frame. It presents very well overall and is ready to hang.
