An elaborate oil portrait of a well-to-do lady wearing an elegant yellow dress with oversized bow. The artist portrays the sitter against a dark background, putting all focus on the radiance in the woman's skin and details in her gown. The portrait has been beautifully housed in a heavy gilt-effect frame with raised oval profile and oval window, finished with several running patterns and glazing. Fixed to the reverse of the frame is a W. Cutler & Son framers label. Illegibly signed. On canvas board.
