About the Item

A postcard depiction of the view from the top of the viewing platform at Battersea Power Station. The painting shows one of the other 4 iconic chimney's that has remained untouched. The viewing platform provides views right across the power station and beyond. A prolific painter, with an impressive portfolio, Sarah’s talents were recently recognised through the selection of her work at this year’s Royal Academy Summer (Winter) Exhibition and the ING Discerning Eye exhibition at the Mall Galleries. North London based Sarah draws her inspiration from her home city. Her work features iconic cityscapes painted in her distinctive style. Sarah’s use of a limited colour palette of acrylics anchored with white transforms the hustle and bustle of the busy metropolis into calming, serene landscapes with an almost dream-like quality. Her trademark use of thick, creamy, buttery brushmarks give her work a slightly abstract but familiar feel. Up close, you can see her expressive mark making, but stand back and her paintings come to life. Sarah’s past achievements have included exhibiting at the ING Discerning Eye, at the Mall Galleries in 2016 & 2018 and a short-listing for the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition in 2015. Her work has also been exhibited at the Affordable Art Fair, The Strand Gallery, Camden Image Gallery and Espacio Gallery. In 2013 she created a series on Battersea Power Station. During the redevelopment of the site, Sarah’s distinctive depiction was selected and reproduced on a large scale for the hoardings of the new development.
