About the Item

Bringing Love Home by Sena Shah is a new design created in October 2024. It is made with felt fabric and reflective paper that enables a lenticular effect causing the art to change as it is viewed from different angles. This version has the word LOVE in red on a green background and the work HOME in blue on a pink background. Each version is made to a limited edition of 10 in a series. This piece is to be sold framed in a solid wood black frame with art glass and measures 60x60x5cm. Additional information: Collage, Fabric, Mixed Media, Textile, Other on Board 60 H x 60 W x 4.98 D cm (23.62 x 23.62 x 1.96 in) Sold framed Image size: Height: 60cm (23.62 in) Width: 60cm (23.62 in) Complete size of unframed painting Height: 56cm (22.05 in) Width: 56cm (22.05 in) Depth: 2cm (0.79 in) Framed Size: Height: 60cm (23.62 in) Width: 60cm (23.62 in) Depth: 4.98cm (1.96 in) Artist biography: Following a career in health and social care management (and a short stint designing beer delivery systems), Sena is now exploring his artistic calling by creating hand made, abstract, geometric, colourful art. Sena works with felt fabric which comes in bold, strong colours that absorb changes in daylight to give subtle changes during the day. Sena enjoys developing bespoke techniques to create an increasing range of complex felt designs that test colour combinations. A unique characteristic of his felt artwork is the lenticular effect where with the use of carefully cut and inserted reflective paper the art changes when viewed from left to right. Many of Sena’s geometric designs can be hung at 90 or 180 degrees to give perpetual intrigue. Sena’s work channels the influence of many post-war artists, with inspiration taken from the works of the late Carlos Cruz-Diez, Victor Vasarely and Bridget Riley to name a few. Most of the standard sized art (60x 60 cm; 1 metre sq; 85x 45 cm) are made in editions of 6. All Sena’s work is handcrafted, therefore limited editions should also be regarded as one-off originals. Sena first unveiled his work to the public at the New Artists’ Fair in London (2019) and has since exhibited in galleries and work spaces across London. He has sold art at major fairs such as The Other Art Fair (London); The Affordable Art Fair in Battersea (15 pieces sold in October 2023) and Art Fair East in Norwich. He is now selling art across the country with orders reaching the USA and Europe. He has art with Tom Cox Gallery in Crystal Palace and Adlib Gallery in Wimbledon. Sena recently (April 2024) showed with the New Constructivists at Chelsea Old Town Hall selling art there. In May 2024 his art will be available at the Affordable Art Fair in Hampstead (stand G7).

Florus, Bold Abstract Painting, Vibrant Contemporary Artwork, Expressionist Art
By Catherine Pennington-Meyer
Located in Deddington, GB
Florus is an original abstract painting by Catherine Pennington-Meyer. The title of this piece means ‘bright’ or ‘rich’ in Latin. A vibrant expressionist abstract full of energy. It will bring a splash of positivity and colour to any scheme. Discover more of Catherine Pennington-Meyer's original artwork with Wychwood Art online and in our Oxfordshire gallery. Catherine is an award-winning artist who currently lives and works near Munich, in Germany. Her work concentrates primarily on abstract expressionism. Catherine has participated in exhibitions throughout Europe and has quickly established a prestigious international collector base. Catherine says of her art: `I see my painting as a kind of language, translating what I feel or experience to those viewing it. I am innately drawn to create raw, emotive, expressionist pieces, mostly abstracts, which distil a subject down to its feeling. I don`t only want my art to be `beautiful` but for it to reach out and touch the person who is viewing it on an immediate, intuitive level. I want my paintings to speak to their audience in their own visceral language. I am influenced by nature, particularly the multifaceted nature of water, and memories of growing up in particularly beautiful landscapes in North Yorkshire and Scotland. I also find human psychology and science fascinating. But I see compositions everywhere, whether it be flowers in a park, the way smoke curls, books on a library shelf or a street market. Everything is made up of shapes and colours. The world is a constant source influences and inspiration.’ Over time, as her work has developed, she has been increasingly compelled towards abstraction, through which she feels able to communicate an energy which is untethered by the constraints of realism. She enjoys playing with light, depth and movement in her art to give it immediacy and to draw a viewer into the composition. Catherine also enjoys poetry, and her works occasionally have accompanying narratives. Catherine views visual and written art...

Influences as far as India and Morocco sit alongside more familiar places such as the Sussex Downs and Irish coastline...
