Tony Jankowski was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. His mother, a former teacher, exposed him to European Masters, and encouraged him to draw and paint at an early age. Mr. Jankowski studied privately with several of Argentina’s leading artists. Continuing his art studies, Tony spent several years living and traveling throughout South America and Europe. He came to the United States in 1963, where he met and studied under Santa Barbara artist Claude Buck for 10 years. His paintings have been shown at galleries throughout the United States, Central and South America, and has won awards and done numerous commissions.
Artist’s Statement:
Tony Jankowski uses techniques of dynamic symmetry and golden proportions in his paintings. Tony says, “Essentially, it is a combination of mathematical proportions and values that will result in a painting with a golden point that will please the eye.”

This watercolor is by Evelyne Brigeois (1946-2016) a very well-known Boise, Idaho artist. It depicts a storefront in Troyes, France. As with many of her paintings, Brigeois pays particular attention to light and shadow. The painting is in very good condition with no flaws to note. The painting is signed in the lower right corner and signed and dated on the reverse. It is titled on a foamcore mount. It is custom matted with three hinges on the top edge of the art.
Born in France in 1946, Evelyne Brigeois was an internationally acclaimed watercolor artist. Having grown up in a small town east of Paris, Brigeois was particularly drawn to places which seem to have preserved their timeless and peaceful aspect. Crisp precision, strong definition of light and shadow, and beautiful composition distinguish her images of the Greek Islands, Venice and France.

This very realistic watercolor depicts a flowering plant, a New Guinea Creeper The colors are rich and saturated. The composition makes wonderful use of shadow and light to give definition and depth. The painting is on heavy Arches paper. It is mounted and floating on a simple acid-free mat and enclosed by a metal frame. The painting, mat and frame are in very good condition.
Born in San Francisco and raised in Marin County, Sally Robertson was always the class artist. Attending UC Santa Barbara during the Pop Art era, she found the aesthetics of soup cans and Brillo boxes could not entice her into being a full-time artist. She switched to the History of Art, later earning a Master’s Degree at UC Berkeley. Even then, late 19th-century art nouveau resonated with her, a style sensuous and decorative with an emphasis on floral motifs. With this background, Sally joined a gallery on Union Street in San Francisco, which evolved into Thackrey & Robertson, significant dealers in works of art on paper from the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
