Perron had a complete mastery of shape and of delicate hues, a wonderful sense of design and an expert command of his chosen medium. His paintings bring a sense of calm and joy to the viewer and their quality simply stands out.

Charles Perron
Charles Perron was born in 1893 at Plessy in the Lower Loire region and was a pupil at the School of Fine Arts at Nantes. A Chenevard prize winner, he received a Second Grand Prize in Rome in 1921, was awarded a Laureate at the Institute, was a gold medallist in 1928, a silver medalist in 1937, and a curator at the Museum of Fine Arts at Nantes from 1936 to 1945. The Museum of Nantes, Rennes, St Nazaire, Guerande, Cambrai and Tourcoing have pictures by this versatile artist including portraits, nudes, landscapes, flowers and still life. Charles Perron died in 1958.
