About the Item

"Apple Tree Blossom" by David Farren is a captivating original French Impressionism landscape painting that invites viewers into the serene beauty of a sun-kissed apple blossom garden. Executed with acrylic on board, Farren's brushwork captures the delicate nuances of spring, immortalizing the ephemeral beauty of apple blossoms in a landscape bathed in sunlight. Framed in a white frame, the painting is not only a celebration of nature but also a framed work of art ready to be showcased. The play of light on the blossoms creates a luminous effect, emphasizing the ethereal quality of the flowers. The color scheme, dominated by shades of white, green, and blue, mirrors the soft and refreshing palette of spring. Farren's skillful use of color captures the essence of the season, where the world is reborn in a symphony of delicate hues. Artist Biography: David Farren is a modern impressionist painter of street scenes and landscapes, concentrating on the effects of light. David was born in Wiltshire and gained a reputation as a modern impressionist, using open brushwork and colour to represent the energy and movement of the landscape. He is fascinated by the changing light within a scene and how it determines the mood of a place at a particular time – be it a busy New York street or a quiet corner of France. The Artist States: “The painting process begins with finding inspiration -walking the streets of New York or London with my sketchbook and camera, looking for interesting light and compositions. I’m often up before dawn so I can be in location for sunrise when there’s a strong contrast between the warmth of the sun, lighting up the edges of figures and cars, and the long cool shadows. I then take all the ideas and information back to my garden studio where I work from the sketches to create the finished painting” David is currently working at his studio in South of France and exhibiting widely in leading galleries across the country. His paintings are held in private collections in the UK, France, USA and Ireland.

  • Bluebells Woods 1, Impressionist Landscape Artwork, Original Floral Painting
    By Rosemary Farrer
    Located in Deddington, GB
Bluebell woods 1 is an original painting by Rosemary Farrer. At this time of year I head for the woods to paint the bluebells. The colours are very hard to capture, not quite purple, not quite blue, photographs don't quite do them justice. This is where a painting has an advantage over a photograph, a combination of cooler blues and warmer purples, side by side, mix optically and create a shimmering field of colour, flecks of lime green from the new beech leaves provide the perfect foil. Rosemary Farrer, artists and printmaker sells with Wychwood Art online and in our art gallery in Oxfordshire. Rosemary paints in oils and also makes original prints. The prints are in no way copies of the paintings, they are conceived of, and made, as a response to the special and wonderful effects that can be achieved only through the various techniques of printmaking, whether it be the graphic, dynamic marks of a linocut, or the subtle tones and textures achievable in aquatint and etching. Design, composition and the use of colour are what excite her. She spends a lot of time drawing and painting outside, back in the studio, she will distil these ideas into strong graphic woodcuts, and linos or subtly textured etchings. Recent monotypes draw together the threads of her different media, with their graphic shapes and rich painterly colours. She studied fine art at Camberwell School of Art and The Ruskin School of Drawing, and learned printmaking at Morley College [London]. She has exhibited prints...
