This work was painted en plein air , November, at Tregenna castle. The view is looking towards Portminster beach through the trees , towards Godrevy lighthouse, of Virginia Wolfe fame. The work is inspired by the late autumn colours on the Tregenna estate. I have painted from this spot every year over the past 12 years, and it remains one of my favourite views. This piece is the inspiration for a larger piece titled Primrose hill , also online.
