About the Item
This sea shell, which the artist painted from life, was purchased in Venice and is a memory of it. The work is painted in a manner reminiscent partly of impressionism, partly of pointillism. It is woven from small strokes and dots of close shades: silver, ochre, turquoise, purple, which, when optically mixed, create a general subtle silvery-pearlescent color scheme. The shape of the shell seems to dissolve in the surrounding space, giving way in perception to the pictorial-light effect of which it consists: glare, a rich palette of color nuances.
The work is not framed. The sides are not painted. It can serve as an excellent gift for a birthday or any other date. It looks great in an office, living room or nursery.
