About the Item

This painting is in excellent condition and has only been shown in a gallery setting. Born in 1971 in Seoul, Korea, Emily Cho, whose Korean name is Yunshee Cho, attended an art high school where she learned various forms of visual art making. Initially she created art just as a hobby, but quickly developed a strong passion for art while learning the ability to capture beautiful scenery onto a canvas by painting. A hallmark of her style is to paint with intricate details and natural colors to strengthen her artwork. During her artistic training, she was primarily inspired by the colors and emotions of 18th century European landscape painters. She firmly believes that the true expression of art resides in nature, and meticulously arranges her paintings to convey delicate differences of color and composition within each landscape. In Cho’s paintings, the beauty of life and art converge in a remarkable way.

September glory by Mary Chaplin is an impressionistic, almost abstract bouquet in a yellow vase. Echinacea pink and light purple asters make up this bouquet collected in the garden of the artist who could not resist the temptation to paint it. This painting is painted with high quality thick acrylic paint on linen canvas. It is not framed but ready to hung. Mary Chaplin is available at Wychwood Art. Mary is a French artist and lives and works in Wailly, a picturesque hamlet surrounded by ponds, rivers and woods, in the North of France. Mary Chaplin for more than twenty years has worked as a self-taught professional artist, always inspired by nature and by the varying effects of light. She started her career by painting figurative scenes she saw around her in the French countryside. Her first artworks were representations of landscapes, gardens, forests, rivers or lakes, which allowed her to explore different techniques, including pastel, oil, acrylic and watercolour. Grocery Store Flowers, Oil Painting
By Judy Mackey
Located in San Francisco, CA

Artist Comments
"I used a palette knife to paint a feeling," says artist Judy Mackey. In this upbeat still life, Judy rendered a bouquet of bright red carnations, adding abstract dashes of yellow and red to build the emotion of the scene she experienced in her studio. She worked all prima, layering wet on wet paint until she achieved the desired sculptural surface.

About the Artist
Originally from Japan, Judy Mackey embarked upon her professional artistic career over a decade ago after connecting with a local artist. He taught her how to skillfully wield a palette knife instead of a paintbrush, which gave rise to her own stylistic development. Judy uses this technique to create heavy texture. Her medium of choice is oil paint, with which she enjoys mixing and creating new colors with limited pigments. Her work glows with sweet simplicity in a painterly, impressionistic style.
