About the Item
Helen Hale was born in Hertfordshire in 1936 and was a part-time student in London from 1955 to 1970 at St Martin’s School of Art and the Sir John Cass School of Art. In 1974 she was elected a member of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters and became the honorary archivist to the ROI from 2002.She has exhibited her work at the Royal Scottish Academy, the Royal West of England Academy, the Free Society of Painters and Sculptors and has had many one man shows.
Helen is a member of the National Society of Painters, Sculptors and Printmakers and the Society of Women Artists. This still life shows her affection for working on the border of realism and abstraction.
