About the Item
This beautiful depiction of delicate roses and intricate insects is a unique and original oil-on-board painting that is circa late 20th Century, by the artist Hildegard Schwammberger (1950-present). Schwammberger is a German Post-war and Contemporary painter who specialises in still life-art, particularly precise, richly coloured flora arrangements. Schwammberger was also a master student of Stieglitz in Essen and received the 1972 Folkwang Prize.
It is Schwammberger’s creative use of colour and attention to detail which makes her feminine masterpieces so rare and unique.
