Within a softly lit room, where a glass pitcher, once filled with life, cradles a bouquet of withered roses. Amidst this tableau, a dance of warm candlelight weaves an intimate and reflective ambiance. Amaryllis with Lemon in a white ceramic pot sits atop a white table with river rocks, in this still life painting from American realist artist, Willard Dixon, who says "the charm of Still Life painting for the artist lies in the ability to manipulate one's subject matter and in the intimate, direct nature of the painting process. It is very much a studio-centric activity, complete and self-sufficient.
