- "Hydrangeas on the Table, " Still Life Oil PaintingBy John C. TraynorLocated in Westport, CTThis impressionistic still life painting by Jon Traynor captures a wooden table top surface with an assortment of root vegetables and a porcelain vase filled with a bouquet of flowers. The painting overall features a warm, earthy palette which gives the sense of a warm glow being cast over the scene. The painting itself is 20" x 24" and 28" x 32" framed. It is professionally framed in an antiqued gold-hued frame. It is signed by the artist in the lower right-hand corner, and is wired and ready to hang. John C. Traynor's painting style is reminiscent of some 19th century painters and the Dutch Masters. He uses his knowledge of light and color to create a certain mood in each of his works. The creation of atmosphere is an important element in Traynor's paintings. Painting outdoors, on location, is a prime source of inspiration and ideas for his landscapes. John travels extensively, painting the landscapes around him. John was born in 1961 and spent his early years in Chester and Mendham, New Jersey. His art studies began at Delbarton School in Morristown, New Jersey, and from there he furthered his education at Paier College of Art in New Haven, Connecticut. He studied figure painting at the Art Students League of New York, as a merit scholar, with Frank Mason. - Yellow GladsBy Lu HaskewLocated in Loveland, COYellow Glads by Lu Haskew Oil on Canvas Floral Still Life 16x24" Image Size, 22x30" Framed ABOUT THE ARTIST: Lu Haskew 1921-2009 "Life is good to me. Being able to go to my studio five days weekly and paint for several hours, living in a supportive community, having family and friends who encourage me--all have contributed to helping me become an artist. Being fortunate to study with some of the artists I admire has kept me painting from the garden, people and my favorite things. With the support of galleries, teaching and doing demos, how could I do anything else? My goal is to try to be the best I can be by always being a student, looking for new ideas and stretching my horizons." Upon retirement from a 33-year teaching career, Lu rented a studio in Loveland and began concentrating on her oil and watercolor painting. Learning from artists she had followed and admired throughout the years her painting became a full time career. Since 1992, she has studied with renowned painters Richard Schmid, Clyde Aspevig, Joyce Pike, and others at the Scottsdale Art...Category
