About the Item

John Schieffer's thoughts on his work: I often paint shiny objects like glass, metal, and water. I am kind of like a crow collecting sparkling things. Translating these into oil paint and infusing them with atmosphere is my daily meditation. The inspiration for each painting is in the unique design of each subject. The color, shape, and interaction of light with each subject is what grabs me. It is what I see as beautiful and try to idealize.
