About the Item

Pink and White Flowers by Josine Vignon (French 1922-2022) stamped verso oil painting on canvas, unframed canvas: 22 x 18 inches Colors: Pink colors, white, green, blue, white, grey and red Very good condition Provenance: from the artists estate, France Josine Vignon (1922-2022) was a French artist living on the Rue Beautreillis in the Marais district of Paris. She painted with a beautiful style, largely influenced by the Impressionist and Post Impressionist techniques, but adding her own distinctive style and technique to each painting. Vignon's works carry tremendous energy and enthusiasm, often painted with very thick impasto oil creating a rich and diverse texture, as well as painting with a tremendous palette range of vibrant and joyful colors. She captured her home city of Paris, as well as Provence and the beauty of the surrounding countryside. We consider her one of the most talented and significant 'undiscovered' artists of her time.

  • Spring Blossom Impression by Swedish Plein Air Artist Anders Ståhl
    Located in Stockholm, SE
Anders Ståhl, Swedish painter, born 1966. Since modernism, outdoor painting has largely been forgotten by professional painters, but the Swedish artist Anders Ståhl keeps the historical tradition of Plein Air alive. Not least when it comes to partly lost working methods in the field. For Anders, this has been a most natural way of creating since childhood; to interpret what he sees and feels, by drawing and painting.  Quickly capturing impressions in the field is one of the most demanding ways of painting you can imagine, since you are simultaneously fighting against both time and the elements. Back in the comfort of the studio, there is so much more time to interpret and perhaps work with larger formats. Anders has a strong artistic relationship with painters from the mid-1800s to the early 1900s, especially the French impressionists and Nordic landscape...
