About the Item
This still life work presents a composition seen from a zenithal perspective. At first glance, the scene is formed by a set of heterogeneous objects, meticulously arranged on a softly illuminated surface. This work invites the viewer to immerse himself in a dialogue between shapes, colors and textures that, although they do not have a direct connection, manage to integrate into a harmonious composition. The arrangement of the elements in the work is clearly geometric, with each object occupying a specific place in the pictorial space. This geometric order contrasts with the apparent lack of relationship between the objects. The choice of the Rubik's Cube as the central element symbolizes complexity and the interplay of order and chaos. The objects arranged around it have their own personality. A remarkable aspect of this work is the treatment of light. The lighting is used in a subtle way to highlight the shapes and textures of each object.

Born in Madrid, Spain, he pursued Interior Design studies but his aptitude for painting led him to focus on this art form. In 1986, he joined the Circulo de Bellas Artes in Madrid, where he spent several years drawing and painting figures from life. In 1989, he became a copyist of Art Works at the National Prado Museum in Madrid, a role he continued for several more years. He took painting courses with Daniel Quintero and Eduardo Úrculo, and engraving courses at the National Mint of Madrid with José Hernández, Daniel Gil, Paco Mora, and Luis Cabrera. He has held solo and group exhibitions in various national and international galleries. He has been selected for numerous national competitions and has won several awards, including the 2nd Prize at the Caballeros de Yuste, finalist in the VIII Laura Otero, Honorary Medal at Sotillo de la Adrada, 5th Prize at the XVIII Antequera in Málaga, Honorary Medal at the XXII López-Villaseñor, XLII Antonio López Painting and Drawing Competition in Tomelloso, Ciudad Real, and First Prize in Small Format Painting at AGORA96 in Cádiz. He was a finalist in the Ynglada-Guillot Foundation Drawing Competition in Barcelona. His most recent selections include Daimiel and Virgen de las Viñas 2022, Laura Otero (finalist), and Valdepeñas 2023. In 2018, he was selected to exhibit at the Art Revolution Taipei International Art Fair and at the X-Power Gallery in Taipei.
