Contemporary figurative floral still life oil on canvas painting by Polish artist Katarzyna Zwolinska. Painting is textured. Katarzyna Zwolinska is a Polish painter, she graduated from the Fine Arts school at Warsaw in 1997. She mainly did easel painting, drawing and pastel work. Very influenced by Italian painting from the 14th century, she questioned the search for beauty and the role of the subject in the painting. Still life, landscapes and flowers were her key themes, these themes aren't attractive at first glance but are bent towards a more contemporary aesthetic. She put aside technical rigor and dedicated herself to simplified painting, based on portraying the object. Through synthetic painting, she concentrated on the visual aspect of the object. Vases, fruit baskets are made up of geometrical lines where contrasts between the forms are reinforced by flat areas of thick colors. In Katarzyna Zwolinska's paintings, her subjects are derived from the academic tradition, asking questions which are still valid today. Is the painted object an excuse to look for a harmony of colors and beauty? She has participated in more than forty collective exhibitions, Zwolinska also had the opportunity to exhibit alone in Poland and Portugal. She received a prize in 2010 during the International Pastel Biennial and Festival of Contemporary art. PROVENANCE Exhibited at Katarzyna Napiorkowska Gallery. The Gallery is a primary representative for this artist. The Gallery of Katarzyna Napiorkowska is one of the first private art galleries in Poland. For over 30 years, the gallery has been presenting contemporary paintings, graphics, drawings, and sculptures. Our galleries are located in Warsaw and Brussels. The portfolio of the Gallery includes selected objects of renowned Polish artists. In 2015, our Gallery was awarded the prestigious title of the Ambassador of the Polish Economy in the European Brand category awarded by the Business Center Club. CONDITION Very good condition. FRAME The painting is not framed. One of the photos presented a visualisation of the frame.
